PEC first involvement in the absolutely not boring world of boron was at the boric acid plant in the Salar de Atacama. He worked in depth at the boric acid plant of Borax Argentina using as feedstock Ulexite, and developed the process to make boric acid using hydroboracite. Another process development has been the production of boric acid from Searleslite.
